A new journal paper ", and also a better quality paper for us geeks a very young age, is a rare thing these days. But it's great news that should be highlighted, especially since it is a magazine born of secular and liberal cultural study, addressed particularly to non-believers. A real surprise, for we confess that they had had any inkling of such preparations. If it is true that behind every man there is an original design original, behind I Believe, the magazine of which we speak, there is a man like unfortunately you can find a few in Italy today: versatile and courageous, organizer and idealistic, stubborn and a perfectionist. Often patron, I am told mutual friends.

And then, again, the years of journalism aeronatico, the great international exhibitions, many technical journals founded and directed, and then the interest in Buddhist philosophy, agnosticism, secularism, love for freedom, sympathy for the Radicals.
And now, finally, this agile bimonthly journal of culture "to" facility - as keen to point out - not anti-religious, crammed full of bright and unexpected academics, philosophers, engineers, writers, psichiatri, antropologi, sociologi, che hanno meditato e approfondito i più vari aspetti del non credere.
Colpisce la dedica sotto la testata che riprende una bella frase del presidente degli Stati Uniti, Obama, detta durante il discorso d'insediamento: "Siamo una nazione di cristiani e musulmani, ebrei e indù, e anche di non credenti". Riconoscimento paritario che, anche in America, nell'America del motto "In God We Trust" e delle ottocentesche dediche a Dio, fanno sempre un certo effetto.
Mancava una rivista di approfondimento culturale, che desse spessore alle argomentazioni del popolo sempre più vasto - si parla di oltre dieci milioni, in Italia - di agnostici, non-credenti, atei, liberi pensatori o razionalisti che dir si vogliano (e sì, perché ognuno di noi free thinkers si incaponisce su una definizione, accampando inesistenti differenze con le altre, e non la molla...), e il bravo Bancale ce l'ha data.
Adesso facciamo la nostra parte, innanzitutto abbonandoci, e poi suggerendo temi, personalità di cultura che possano riferire la propria testimonianza, collaboratori (a proposito, si cercano giovani che gli diano una mano in redazione, a Civitavecchia), commenti, argomenti nuovi, statistiche, curiosità, fotografie, pubblicità, collegamenti su internet. In informatica è un po' carente, quindi cerca anche un webmaster non credente, ma con i fiocchi.
E ancora non abbiamo parlato del contenuto: ci torneremo su.
Ah, dimenticavo il meglio. L'impronta decisamente laica e liberale, del resto chiaramente espressa con termini ed espressioni inequivocabili fin dalla copertina. Ottima cosa. Niente nuova "religione dell'anti-religione". Non solo, ma, nonostante lo spessore dei collaboratori, la rivista è brillante, piacevolmente leggera e si divora d'un fiato: Niente cose tetre e pesanti a cui ci aveva abituato il vecchio ateismo di decenni fa. Si sente il buon gusto e la selezione da parte del giornalista esperto in redazione.
Auguri e complimenti a Paolo Bancale. Diamogli una mano; la daremo a noi stessi.
